A lot of people look at little kids without thinking about how much they could actually learn from them, but the thing is we could learn a ton from toddlers...
Sometimes, I find myself wishing I looked at the world like a child does. To look at everything this world has to offer, wonderment dancing through my eyes, well, I think it would be amazing. This is one of the many things we could learn from these little bundles of energy. Everything from new experiences to adventures to new toys, gets looked at with high hopes. What if we looked at our lives, God included, like that? I think we'd definitely be more giving, caring, and loving towards one another. We'd probably be more open to talking about God and sharing our faith too.
2- Authentic - ness
Little kids are very very honest, open, and real. They are really good at sharing their minds. They're blunt. We have all heard the stories of little kids going up to strangers and asking embarrassing questions and the parents will apologize for the child's behavior. We can learn from that. No, I'm not saying you should march up to people and say things like that, but be honest in a kind, caring, and loving manor. Be honest, but don't be rude about it. You don't have to be the blunt person who says the first thing that comes to mind, but if someone asks you a question about God and you don't know say, "I don't know. I can't answer that." Don't make up your own answer and hope its right. And be real like that little kid being truly genuine about their question. They don't mean anything by asking strange things. So don't pretend. Don't be afraid to show you faith. Matthew 10:31-33 talks about how those who openly admit to loving God will be openly invited to Gods kingdom by Jesus, but those who don't, won't be.
Toddlers don't let life get in the way of their time. They play every moment of everyday (unless their sleeping). They cry, but a few minutes later don't even remember why and go right back to their game. Wouldn't that be nice? The thing is we could do that! How, you ask? By letting God have control of course! If your stressed, say, "God please help me get over this and please take the stress away." Then move on! Find someone who makes you laugh, look up something funny, have fun! Don't sulk. Give it to God. He can handle it much better than you can.
4-And so much more.
They are humble, good at forgiving, kind, caring, loving, full of joy, faithful, and sometimes, I think they can even see the world so much better than we can. Isn't that truly awesome?
About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" Jesus called a little child to Him and put the child among them. Them He said, "I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
