Sometimes I feel like I have to chase the world. Kind of like it has left me behind and the only way for me to catch up is to sprint after it. It is like I am battling everything just to keep up. It gets really tiring really fast and makes it hard for me to focus on God and the beauty of his creation because all my time is being spent running after the world and other things that don't really matter. So when I find that all I'm doing is dashing after the world, I stop. I refocus. The Bible tells us to focus on "things above".
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal.
Therefore, when I am doing nothing but running after the world, I stop and read these Bible verses. They help me focus on God instead of worldly desires. They run through my head whenever I am not heading towards God. And I find that when I am focusing on God instead of the world, I am much happier and my time is filled with pleasure. I don't become stressed. And life is more enjoyable.
