To be quite honest with you, I don't really have a clue of what I should write for today. So I might just ramble on about lots of things. Anyway, today I was looking at some of the biggest questions people have about God, the Bible, and Christianity. I found that a lot of people have a ton of questions. And as I read through a lot of questions, there were a couple of things I noticed.
- A lot of people don't like giving Christianity a chance. They just hastily say that it is garbage and we Christians are wasting our lives believing in this stuff. There were several times that people were rude and said some hateful things about Christianity. So, if we are wasting our lives believing in God and the Bible, then are others wasting their lives on their religions? Are Atheist wasting their lives not believing in God? How do you know that we are the ones wasting our lives?
-Just as many people ask why we are judgmental and rude when it comes to other religions. They want to know why we are hypocrites and tell others not to do things when we do those same things. I agree a lot of Christians are very hypocritical and judgmental. I am both of these things at times, everyone is. So, yeah, we are judgmental and it makes it hard for people to actually look at Christianity for what it is supposed to be instead of what people have made it out to be. Christianity is about being kind to people and sharing God's word. We Christians are to be good listeners and advice givers. We are called to be fishers of men. And to do this we need to be kind, caring, and accepting, but that is not what people see or think of when they look at Christians. That is just sad. We have completely flopped the view of our religion. Christians were first called Christians because people thought they looked like Christ through their actions and thoughts. Obviously since many people think that we are hypocritical, that is not what they see.
-Many people want to know why God, who is supposed to be loving and caring, lets bad things happen. They struggle with the idea that a God would allow good people to go through loss and suffering. They also struggle with the idea that He would let people live in poverty and starve. But the thing is, everything happens for a reason. God has a bigger plan in mind and no one can understand that plan or know what that plan is except for God. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future."
-They don't understand how you can believe in something without any evidence. They don't see the point in believing in something that you can't see. Faith is not about knowing for a fact that what you believe in is real. Faith involves a bit of believing without seeing. Even if you are Atheist, you are believing that their is not a God without being able to know for a fact or to see that there is not a God.
