This is based off a little kid devotion in my "Little Visits with Jesus" book from when I was little. Anyways:
Imagine it is raining. Giant drops pound on your windows. It's mid-day and the sky is pitch black. Clouds are gathered straight overhead. Lightning streaks across the sky, casting everything you see in a hazy unclear light. Thunder echoes in your skull, reverberating through you body. The wind howls in an attempt to break through the barriers of your walls. And just as suddenly as it started, it stops.
The little kid in the original story in my book said "It stopped raining. God turned off the faucets." It is the child like faith that the little boy in the story has, that we are also called to have, and, though, God may not "turn off the faucets" to stop the rain, but he is definitely in control of it just like he is in control of everything else. He is in charge of every detail of everything. From all the beautiful things the Earth is decorated with to all the breathtaking moments in our lives, it is all in our powerful God's hands. There is nothing that happens in our crazy world that he doesn't know about.
