Here in America, we are all very quick to complain about things, people, and circumstances. We complain if our phones don't stay charged long enough or if our siblings are being annoying. We complain about people being different, loud, obnoxious, or weird. We complain when we don't get what we want. We complain about pretty much everything and all this complaining goes right to our head!
We have so many blessings. We get to drink clean water right our of the facet. We have electricity, all we need to do is flip a switch. We can say anything we want because we have freedom of speech. We have warm homes, families, friends, neighbors, pets, plenty of food, and so much more. For crying out loud, we are a free country. Yet, all we seem to concentrate on are the little inconveniences that don't even begin to put the slightest dent in the overwhelming flood of blessings.
To me that is completely crazy...I mean seriously, look around. Our lives are awesome. So why do we focus on the things that we all complain about, me included? I really don't know, besides the fact that we can't seem to understand all that God has given us. We can't seem to comprehend all of the fantastic things that God has placed in our lives. If only we would focus on Him, we would notice all those things soooo much more.
I don't know. I feel like this post is a little incomplete. So here is a challenge:
I challenge you for one week to try and focus on God and all that He has blessed you with. Focus less on complaining and more on Him. When ever you feel that you are complaining or even when you feel the need to complain, turn to God and tell Him how you feel.
I'm not saying that I do this on a regular basis, because I definitely do not, but what I am going to say is that when ever I do this, I find that I and more thankful and grateful. It puts me in a much healthier and happier mindset.
