Here lately I've been thinking. I've been thinking of people, the world, myself, friends, atoms, cells, everyone, and everything. How it all fits together. Its a crazy organized spider web woven out of every atom and cell.
Its weird. This world is made up of thick-headed, bright, brilliant, unique, amazing, people, but there is so much darkness mixed in with all that light. We humans are lost confused beings who are always searching for the thing right in front of us. The problem is we don't even know what that thing is. We couldn't describe it if it smacked us in the face and landed at out feet. We are so blindsided by the things being fed into our minds everyday that we are clueless, foolish. And so we starve. Spiritually we are starving ourselves. We went from Adam and Eve in the beautiful garden with God to this crazy society that we live in today. And all for what? What have we accomplished? n o t h i n g We are just as lost and confused as we were when Cain and Able were battling it out. We have the same struggles, but we are farther from God!
I don't understand. Maybe I'm no supposed to. It just seems meaningless. If each of us is going to live, strive, hunger, crave only for themselves, if each of us is only going to help ourselves, if each of us is only going to fulfill our own needs, what is the point of living? If we are going to isolate our thinking, limiting it to only ourselves, what is the difference between living and dying? What is the point of others, friends, family, church? If we are all going to be selfish, what is the point of it all? Why live? Why breath? Why use our voices? Why love? Why care? I mean if we are only going to think of ourselves, living that lifestyle where you think everything revolves around you, non of it makes a difference at all. UNLESS...
We live for a purpose.
That purpose being God, Jesus Christ, the One and Only, The One True King. And why does this make a difference? It gives us meaning! If shows us what love is supposed to look like, supposed to be. It show us how to think of others as more important than ourselves! It shows us how to be selfless rather than selfish. For crying out loud! Even the Bible says that if the if Jesus isn't or wasn't real, then everything is meaningless because he wasn't just a man. He was God in the flesh. I'm basically saying the same thin with a ba-jillion more words.
It just boggles my brain. Why would such wonderful creatures, such as we humans, run after such darkness? Why would we want to fill our lives with such gloom? We go after money and possessions and what does that actually accomplish? Not much if you really think about it. It's not like you can take your billion dollars and giant house with you to the grave.
But it is much bigger than even that! Not only is it consuming our lives, but we are letting it. We crave and chase this "irresistible" darkness until we can't any longer because we are old and achy. Then we pass this desperate craving on from one generation to the next. And all this craziness gives us doubts and makes us worry, and makes us confused. The number one thing girls now-a-days struggle with is beauty. Why? Because of the darkness of is world! They are constantly told they aren't pretty. That they should wear this make up because they will never look that good without it. And all this blots out the truth that they are already amazingly astonishing! I have yet to see a girl that is not gorgeous in my eyes or in the eyes of the Lord. They are unique creations of God and they don't even notice the amazingness of that! Doesn't that depress you? I know it sure depresses me. It should make everyone grieve for them. They can't see their own beauty...And it's not just young girls, it's numerous people: boys, girls, and adults. We all struggle with the same thing. Even if it's just every once in a while.
