Jesus was no delicate, dainty princess. He didn't stay secluded in a fancy tower to save his skin, He didn't stay hidden away to be safe from evil people. Jesus walked into the world and saw an enormous yellow and green bruise across it. So He dived into people's lives and started healing that big old ugly bruise. While on this mission, He acquired some scrapes of His own, and eventually got scarred.
Let's talk about scars. Scars last forever, or at least a very long time. When you look at it, you remember the story. The one behind it that explains why it's there. The story behind Jesus's scar started with his mission to redeem the people His Father loved so dearly. He had to deal with verbal, mental, and physical beatings on the way, but He stuck with the plan because He believed so completely that we were worth every scrape and discomfort. He talked to the sort of individuals that others were horrified to even glance at. He cared for the highest of the high and the lowest of the low. Because the world was not accustomed to this sort of purity and perfect love, they killed Him. His crucifixion, a scar. He had nothing, but gave everything.
To change the world for the better, we are going to have to be doers. Doers that dive wholeheartedly into their tasks to heal mankind. Yes, these ambitious people are going to be bumped, scraped, and bruised on their nobel quest, but it will be for the utmost greatest cause. A cause so amazingly worth every hurt along the way, that Jesus ultimately died for it. Hopefully we won't die doing what God calls us to do, but we need to be ready to kick off our worthless princess high heels and start being world changers.
